Although known for the Nuremberg Trials, this Bavarian city has a stunning medieval core of cobbled streets and half-timbered buildings that wouldn’t look out of place in a fairy tale. Sitting above this is the castle, one of the most important in the Holy Roman Empire. Take the steep walk up here for fantastic old town views.
Hauptmarkt square in the old town is home to an unusual-looking church and a Gothic fountain, spectacularly lit during the annual Nuremberg Christmas markets. Selling everything from wooden toys to lebkuchen (gingerbread), these are widely considered the best Christmas markets in Germany.
Other attractions in Nuremberg (Nürnberg in German) include the Germanisches Nationalmuseum, the country’s largest museum of culture and art. Another highlight is the Heilig-Geist-Spital, a medieval hospital by the Pegnitz River.
A word must also be said about its relationship with Nazism. On the south-east corner are the immense Nazi Rally Grounds and Party Congress Hall, built in appropriately domineering fashion. The excellent Documentation Center here is a sensitive and unbiased portrayal of life under Hitler. It is also possible to visit the courtroom where the war trials were held.
Before leaving your Booking.com apartment, hotel or hostel to go to Nuremberg Airport, don’t forget to try the spicy local sausage!

It's a charming little city, with rich history and lovely churches. It is an hour outside of Munich, and there is an easily accessible train station to get there. I think it is worth visiting and a hidden gem of Bavaria.

A very beautiful city with excellent options for everyone: long walks in the parks or on the river banks and beautiful bridges; historic sites, castle and interesting museums; beautiful streets and wonderful traditional houses; monuments and statues; nice shopping streets with low and high end shops and brands; lively restaurants and terraces with great food options. It really has everything you could want for a great holiday . Do not miss the castle, Dürer house, Germanisches nationalmuseum, Fembohaus. As well, take the train to Bamberg, a real jewel city, just 40 minutes away.

The Documentation Center at the Nazi parade grounds is a must see. Very well done and manageable. Only takes 30 mins to an hour. The Palace of Justice wasn't open when we were there. Would have liked to see that.

Nuremberg is a fantastic city with museums, churches and history. The Old town of Nuremberg is it´s heart and soul. An excellent place to walk and explore with fantastic shopping opportunities for all people. Nuremberg also has great restaurants. I also love Konigstrasse with all the boutique shops and vegtable market stalls selling fresh fruits and vegetables. Don´t miss the bratwurst restaurants near to the Tourist office at the end of Königstrasse.

I went to Nuremberg to research the National Archives.
I went to Nuremberg to research the National Archives. This went well leaving time to accompany my wife doing some tourism. The city is delightful and the people are very friendly. The only tourists we saw were of the more intellgent selective type. The town has much of its mediaeval buildings with very careful rebuilding in the 1950's. We ate very well in several restaurants. Fantastic street markets and museums. The Castle (Burg) is well worth a visit as is the National Museum.
Good hotel, with an excellent location, right next to the Albrecht-Dürer-Haus, in the beautiful Old Town of Nürnberg.
Was there during a street music festival, at which it felt like the entire town gathered on the streets of the Old Town - great atmosphere and even better, it took 2 minutes to reach the hotel :) Plus, once the windows were closed, it was really quiet, so the partying on the street which kept going late in the night did not bother at all.
The fact that the hotel has its own parking garage is great!
The hotel is very close to the Old Town, with two metro stations nearby. The room had everything we need, the kitchenette was very well-equipped. We had complementary beers and water in the fridge waiting for us. The room itself is arranged very well, with a small table to have a snack or work.
The breakfast was very good, with a good selection of meets and cheeses, pastries and fruits, with possibility to make freshly squeezed juice.
We arrived by train, it was only a 15 minute walk from the train station. The city centre is not too far either, and easily reachable by foot. The receptionist was friendly, he gave us a map with all the major sights and good restaurants in Nürnberg.
Our room was comfortable. Good shower. We could hear some noises from other rooms, but besides that it was a quiet hotel.
Comfortable rooms, although the carpets might like a bit more care while cleaning, the overall cleanliness was very good and I would definitely come back again if staying in Nurnberg. The hotel was around 45 min walking distance from the City Centre and there was public transport available as well. Good selection of food for breakfast.
It was our second time at this hotel.
It again confirmed our expectations with excellent staff, always helpful. The location is great (the metro is 20 metres away) and the old town and the city centre are only a few minutes walk away. It will definitely also be our choice for our next trip to Nuremberg.
The hotel is located reasonably near the Old Town, making the central town accessible on foot. The room size was great. We were offered to use the facilities, such as the spa and swimming pool but we did our stay was too short. Nevertheless, it was great to be offered this.
Located in the heart of the Old Town, we just love this gem of a hotel. Great folks at reception, easy walk to the castle, Christmas Market and shopping. The room a are clean, quiet, and comfortable with a delicious breakfast buffet.
The apartment is really nice, close to the old town and with an underground parking., access to shopping facilities nearby. The hosts were very accommodating to our questions. The view of Nürnberg from above is very pleasant.
- very friendly staff
- very nice room
- amazing breakfast
- perfect location, very close to the attractions in old town
- very nice bar/restaurant in the hotel
- very good value for money
Walking distance to train station and everything in Old Town. I loved the chandeliers in the hallways and room. It felt like I was staying in authentic German hotel with modern amenities.
Small and cosy hotel. Perfect location for these who wish to visit Nürnberg Old Town or shopping streets. Perfectly clean rooms. Two very good restaurants just next door to hotel.
We stayed in the efficiency apartment across from the hotel and loved it. The location to the Old Town and Christmas Market was perfect. It had a small kitchen and felt spacious.
A good hotel within walking distance of transport and the old town. Lovely warm room, comfortable bed, good water pressure in the shower. Friendly staff.
